Teeth whitening was once a procedure that only took place in a dentist’s office.  Now, with the arrival of home teeth whitening systems, the practice of teeth whitening, also known as teeth bleaching, can be done from the comfort and privacy of one’s own home.  Of course, the ease in which people can now whiten their teeth is not the only advantage gained from the use of over-the-counter teeth whiteners.  In fact, there are quite a few advantages associated with the use of home bleaching systems.

First and foremost, one of the biggest advantages of using at home teeth whiteners is the money savings advantage.  Actually, just one visit to the dentist’s office for a teeth whitening procedure can cost well over 300 dollars; in fact, it may even cost up to 500 dollars for just one visit!  Further, most teeth whitening procedures require several follow up visits to the dentist’s office.  Based on such an estimate, home based teeth whitening systems save people a bundle.

Secondly, teeth whitening systems are simple to use and the process is in no way painful. Most of the teeth whitening systems on the market today consist of a tray and whitening gel.  The tray is made of soft material and the gel is placed inside the tray.  Once the tray has been properly filled with gel it is ready to be placed on the teeth to begin the teeth whitening process.  In most cases, the process will need to be repeated, depending on the severity of teeth staining.
