Do you wish your teeth were whiter and would you like a brighter smile? There are many whitening options out there today. You can either let your dentist do it or you can purchase a whitening kit at your local retail store. Whitening your teeth can reduce discoloration and staining due to coffee or tea. Even some foods can stain your teeth. Whether you let your dentist whiten your teeth or you do it with an at home kit, don’t trust anyone that tells you they can whiten your teeth up to nine shades. Generally, a shade or two whiter will make a significant difference in your smile. There are a few ways that teeth whitening can be performed. There is chemical whitening, mild acid whitening, and abrasive teeth brightening, and laser teeth whitening. You and your dentist can decide which is the right one for you. Unfortunately, teeth whitening isn’t a permanent fix, although, the results can last up to two years. It all depends on your personal habits. If you are a smoker, then the results may not last as long. Most patients are pleased with their results. Typically, teeth whitening and bleaching will cost you about $500. Laser whitening, on the other hand, will cost you upwards of $1000. Unfortunately, your dental insurance most likely won’t cover this cost. |
