Teeth whitening are the best way to improve your smile. A number of people want to go for teeth whitening but they stay away from it because of the various hassles involved. It also costs a lot of money. Well, in such a case, you should look for other alternatives. A number of such alternatives are described below: 1. Veneers: they are small porcelain or plastic strips that are put over the teeth. They make the teeth whiter and more pleasurable to look at. Bleaching may not help in case you have severe discoloration or staining. Two types of veneers are available: Porcelain veneers: they can be made only by paying repeated visits to a dentist. The dentist makes these veneers by taking moldings of the patient's teeth. You can get whiter teeth for a period of 10 to 15 years by spending $1000 to $2500 on these veneers. Direct or Composite veneers: a single visit to a dentist or oral health professional is enough for making these veneers. The enamel is stuck to each tooth. You have to pay $250 for each tooth. These veneers will last anywhere between 5 to 7 years. 2. Bonding: composite resins are used to fill in the gaps present in between the teeth. It is also used to recolor or resize the teeth so that you can have new improved smile. A dental health professional puts the resins on your teeth. They are then attached to the teeth with the help of a high intensity light. Composite resin: it looks very natural when placed adjacent to the teeth. It can also be used in place of silver fillings. However smokers should not go for composite resin as the smoke will discolor it. The cost of composite resin is much higher than the silver fillings. You may have to pay $600 for each tooth.
